I am very happy to join this group. In the first instance, I would like to wish all the very best to our members in The working women group. I would like to put forth my problem in my work place for seeking the advice of my fellow members. I am working in central public sector undertaking in Karnataka. I was working in Bangalore and I was recently transferred to Mysore. Due to this change of work place I feel lonely and all are looking me as stranger and unwanted soul. I know the local language to write, read and speak. But these people always tag me "tamilian woman" and never give cooperation to my day to day official life. Due to this I get easily disheartened and not at all enjoying my work place. Will some our friends who had same type of experience can guide me how can I tide over the situation. Please help me.

Hi, I am very much happy to join this `Working Women Group'. Hi Sumitra, even I have faced the same problem. I am working for Doordarshan. Here when I joined this office, I had no contact with other staff for complete 6-7 months. I had worked in the main Ministries , usually I enjoy my working place. Here as I have attached to the senior most person, sitting in a separate cabin with work pressure, I was alone. Now slowly I started enjoiying my office.For you since u know the language, there may not be any problem. Go voluntarily and converse with them and render help or assistance and slowly u will get in contact with them. For instance, u can extend some good food items with them or any prasadams, appreciate their dress sense, about their personality, etc. . It will be o.k. with the matter of time. Don't get dishearterned.

I thought i am the only person traveling in the boat but i am very much astonished to see that you have also crossed such experience in your work life. Thanks for your kind advice. I will somehow learn to adjust with the people around me in the office so that I will get their help. thanks and keep writing please.

hi everybody

we are join family with mother in law & one brother in law, elder brother in law and his wife . i am the only working women in our family. iam very adjustable to every one for the past six years, now a days i cant be like that, i dont know what is my problem and i feel lonely. there is lots of misunderstanding with my husband.......i feel that i was helpless . please any one help me to get rid of this problem.
